Services

Blue Sky Abilities offers therapeutic support services of Behavior Aide, Parent Coaching, Educational Advocacy, Life Skills and specialized therapies through our Community Life Services. Qualified members of the Community Life treatment team provide therapeutic support services for individuals in multiple settings and facilitate skills development to achieve goals and objectives. 

Therapeutic Support

Behavior Therapy interventions promote the use of positive behavioral supports in home, at school and in the community. Our Behavior Therapists use data collection methods to assess behaviors and develop a behavior plan using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques. Behavior Therapy may take place in home, school or clinic. All Behavior Therapists are Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certified.

 

Behavior Aides assist families in implementing positive behavior support plans developed by Behavior Therapists (BCBA) and are trained to use Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.

Parent Coaches work with families to increase positive communication and organizational skills at home to meet an individual's goals and objectives.

Blue Sky Advocates are prepared to support families when creating individual educational plans (IEP) in schools, attendance at ARD's  and at team meetings to represent the needs of families as well as provide training or resources.

​

Community Life trainers specialize in the development of Life Skills to promote independence for individuals in their home, in the community or in school.

Specialized Therapy

Recreation Therapy positively effects the overall quality of life of an individual through an increase in leisure skills and resources. Using various modalities, Recreation Therapy focuses on improving social, physical, cognitive and emotional functioning. Recreation Therapy is beneficial within a community setting to promote social interaction, increase leisure abilities, self confidence and independence. Recreation Therapy is held in a variety of settings within the community. Our Recreation Therapists are Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS).

Music Therapy turns music making and musical activities into creative interventions, affecting changes in physical, psychological, cognitive, behavioral and social functioning. Music therapists facilitate a unique variety of experiences that are intentional and developmentally appropriate for their clients. Music Therapy is provided in the comfort of an individual’s home or in the community.

Our Music Therapists are Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC).

Art therapy uses the creative process involved in art making to increase self-awareness, increase coping skills, relieve stress and traumatic experiences, and enhance cognitive functioning and awareness. Art Therapy is used to treat a variety of symptoms including but not limited to depression, anxiety, anger, and aggression, oppositional tendencies, post-traumatic stress, and attention deficit and hyperactivity. Art Therapists use the creative process to help children identify issues, create goals to address their concerns or challenges, and develop objectives with the clients to meet these goals.

Our Art Therapists are LPC and Registered Art Therapist - Board Certified (LPC, ATR-BC)
